Coleman Drew and Samantha Souza are the creative force in front and behind the scenes of “The Great White Way Report”. In the fall of 2008 they posted their first YouTube video showing off the dynamic banter only a gay man, a gorgeous blonde, a shared love of Broadway, and a webcam can produce. They have created over 24 videos and are well on their way to viral status with over 50,000 views in a very niche community. You can see what started as two friends sharing their love of the best and the worst that Broadway has to offer in its present incarnation here: “The Great White Report” channel on YouTube!
Coleman and Samantha have just begun to tap into their creative talents and are thrilled to launch their own website this summer. “Thegreatwhitewayreport.com” (under construction) will be the place to go for all things Broadway, bringing the digital revolution of New Media to the Original American Art Form. With their trusty webcams and the Bright Lights of the great white way, Samantha and Coleman share the information that the next generation of theater goers need and want to know.

“Coleman and I met while in performing arts school in LA. We moved to New York on the same day to continue school. “Great White Way Report” started because our friends used to laugh hysterically at our banter about Broadway and the jokes we would tell at parties, and someone finally said, ‘you guys should have a show with all of this in it.’ So basically, episode one debuted November 2008, and consisted of the jokes we told at this party. We didn’t really think it would catch on the way it did. But because we developed such a loyal fan base, we worked really hard to keep making each episode better and funnier. It’s been plugging along ever since, getting fancier and fancier.”

“Let’s see how many musical theatre references I can put into our “about us…” how The Great White Way Report got started. Samantha and I did know each other, our paths did cross at school, and once we met, we knew we would always be bosom buddies. With this friendship the show just seemed to bloom like an enormous beanstalk growing right next to that little cottage. We both are actors in the big bad apple and while we were pounding 42nd Street, we decided the best thing for us was to get a gimmick, or in this case a YouTube show! It wasn’t hard to do, we both love to make ’em laugh and together we’re both practically perfect. After all, if you take two friends, a camera, and throw in the roar of the greasepaint, the smell of the crowd, you got yourself a GREAT show…at least by our standards. So, now you can get your Broadway fix whenever you want, whether you’re on a bus from Amarillo, or opening up a restaurant in Santa Fe.
